Roof Trusses

As our roof trusses where being placed on our home
I thought of the famous saying

A Roof Over Our Heads

I wondered the who, what and where said these key words
that generations of people around the world are repeating.

I googled for a explanation of this famous saying -

"A roof over my head and food in my stomach"
"I can barely afford a roof over my head my salary is so low"
"I got a roof over my head and shoes on my feet"
"Where I live is not important, as long as I have a roof over my head"

I can relate to all of the sayings that I found:

Food = Kitchen
The kitchen is the "core" of the home!

Salary is so low = budget revisions while building!

Shoes on my feet = Nordstrom
Nordstrom was founded as a shoe store
and I had my retail career with Nordstrom!

Where I live is not important = Location, Location, Location
Thru this blog everyone knows that where we live is
very important to Ed and myself!

I could not find the "true" explanation.
If you know please leave a comment.

The roof trusses are going up!

Angles in the roof line!

Final touches on the front of the roof line!

Beginning the back of the house!

Back Completed!

Next...shingles!

Window Squares in the Walls

As I walk in the house and look thru where
the windows will be I feel such excitement.

Ed and I wanted to feel the
outside while inside.

We can envision the -
small vineyard
 dahlia garden
 large lawn
trees and shrubs
vegetable garden
floral cutting garden
potting shed
and  Ed's dark red pole barn.
(of course the color of red burgundy wine)

Which will take us 5 years to complete!

Welcome to our front entrance

French Doors to come!
Looking out our back door at the trees and future pole barn!

Our guest room and bathroom

Imagine seeing the edge of the pole barn and dahlia garden
from our Master bedroom windows.

Master Suite!

For Lynne a window in the laundry room -
she always wanted one in her home!

Front and Back!

Thank you MIke for the large windows!
(Not sure if he likes the size.)

Ed and I love them!
Outside while Inside!

Walls

Before Walls!
Our home in the middle of this photo!
Walls going up!

Beginning to feel like a house.

Interesting how the wood is placed.

Enjoying a glass of wine in our nook!

Ed looks so happy!

Our builder - Mike Willcuts!

Ed and I enjoy talking with Mike about the
building process at the end of the day.

First Footsteps

When you can wake up and spend the day
wine tasting with very special friends.

And have the chance to
step on your sub-floor for the first time
simply...exciting!

Started the day with Lynne and Kathy.
Showing the ladies where our new home is located!

Notice the sub-flooring being placed!

Kathy's comment I will always remember
"You and Ed have chosen the perfect location for the two of you."

The sub-flooring is installed!

Smiles when taking our first footsteps on our floor!

Catching up!

It has been weeks since I have updated Coyote Loop NE blog!

While the Willcuts are building our new home -
Ed and I have begun choosing colors, cabinets, sinks, flooring and even faucets!
(More on this next week - stay tuned)

It looks so still and quiet on Coyote Loop when the morning fog settles in!

Post and Beams are in place!
Next plumbing!

Randy our plumber hard at work!

I really enjoyed seeing the pipes go in.

It gave an impression of where the bathrooms,
kitchen sink and laundry room will be.

 A very special friend, Jane!
Visting from Colorado!
It was great to be able to show Jane (and Roy) our new home!

Trench for Comcast, Electrical and water in the ground.

Yes, we do have sunshine in Oregon. Love Ed's shadow!
 Wood for sub-flooring had arrived!
Can't wait to be able to step into our home!
