Countdown - 6 Sundays

When I arrived at our home for Sunrise Sunday
I thought where would I place my chair...

Inside or Outside?

Maybe on the front porch by the beautiful stonework.
Then I thought of Andrew our Grandson.. who just turned 10!
More about Andrew later in this blogpost.

Inside I would miss the Sunrise -
windows taped preparing for texturizing.

Garage - probably not.

Let me share with you one area of our home I discovered
before I show you the sunrise.

Not being able to see the outside it made me
look at an area of our home in a different way...
Hallways!

Looking in I never noticed that you can see the stairway
to the Loft as you enter our home.

Entering from the garage door and looking back from coat closet door.

Coming out of the study looking at the future kitchen!

From the powder room to the laundry room,
then photo taken reversed.

I placed my rose chair at the future entrance of the pole barn
looking at the back of our home.

Now you are probably wondering why Andrew and Hallways?
Connections!

Like the hallways that connect our rooms in our home,
spending time with our Grandchildren connects us to them.

As easy as shooting hoops at the school!

Andrew is a very polite, follows direction
and most important is very Thankful for what you do with him and for him.

Thank you Andrew for making us remember the importance of Connections!

PS - Perhaps one of these photos of Andrew and Grandpa
will appear on one of the hallway walls!

Mudding!

Oops... forgot a one step before texturing and color

Mudding!

Filling in the gaps of the sheetrock.

Boxes were arranged in the middle of the dining room...
just as I am picturing our round dining room table.

Master Bath - my future soaking tub!

As I look at the Craft Coloring Loft I am
relating mudding to preparing the canvas for our our home
as I would begin crafting a card.

And I thought mudding is what our property is going to be this Winter!
Mud Football Challenge... anyone want to play?

Today - Texturing!

Smaller and Larger

Everyone who has built a home has told us
"the inside of the house will feel like it is getting smaller then it will be larger."

I thought this feeling would happen when the house had the inside walls.
What I felt is definition -
 the size of the rooms
the "true" shape of the rooms
the feeling when walking into a room

Perhaps this feeling of  "smaller and larger"  will happen when the
walls are textured, flooring and doors are in our home.

Vaulted ceiling in the great room
or as I call it the Living room.

Kitchen - most important room in a home!

Entry and Dining Room.

The Den actually feels larger to both Ed and myself.

Guest room closet.
Notice the electrical plug in the right hand corner...
more about why it is there in a future blog!

Entry into the Master Suite.

Loft - upper floor!

Future Craft Coloring Room in the Loft!

Next... color choices!

Countdown - 7 Sundays

The weather this morning was so beautiful
I choose to place my Rose chair for Sunrise Sunday on the

 Patio outside the great room!

French Doors leading to the Patio.

Two very special views from the patio!

Placed pieces of wood down to see what a larger patio would feel like.

6ft or 10 ft?

Watching the hot air balloons from our back yard!

Looking at Lori's corner from the kitchen.
What was happening inside our home - sheetrock!
Now, there are walls!

Finished Stonework

When selecting our stone choice Ed and I
immediately went to the same color choice.

Warm shades of taupe, brown, terra cotta and red.

Boral Cultured Stone - Alpine Ledgestone
The colors reminded me of 3 places that are very special to me -
Red Rock Park just outside of Denver, Colorado
Red Rock Canyon outside of Las Vegas, Nevada
and The Grand Canyon in Arizona.

Also, the color name of this stonework
Chardonnay!

Let me introduce Jason the Mason!
Owner of Wright Masonry.

Nathan,Tony and Tyler starting the stonework!

Outside of the Entryway Arch.

Inside the archway when the front door is open.

Texture!

Simply... beautiful!

What caused my "happy tears"?

The stonework is exactly what I envisioned...
color, texture and feeling.

Thank you to Jason and his team!
