Building the Cabinets

The kitchen is the core of a home.
The room that everyone gathers in.
Conversations happen in the kitchen.
While cooking with family and friends
or simply enjoying a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.

Therefore it was very important to us to have beautiful and functional cabinets.
To have this you must have a great cabinet maker and we do!

Beaudry's Cabinets

As we began planning I asked if we could tour the workshop.
Nathan Beaudry graciously said yes!

And I thought you might enjoy the building of the cabinets.

Our cabinet maker Beaudry's  opened up their
workshop as our kitchen cabinets were being made.

Let's Start!

We choose Alder for our wood cabinets!

Imagine our Farm Sink in this cabinet!

This is one of the first steps of creating our cabinet
that our Cappuccino machine will be placed on.

End caps with detail trim!

End cap being applied to cabinet!

Ed and I felt like I was watching "This Old House" on PBS!

Below is what I discovered on day 2 of the build.

I call this - Glue and Hold!

First stain being applied!

Also, Beaudry's crafted our bathroom cabinets.
Hardware in and next cabinet to be stained!

Ebony stain on Alder!

Back of cabinets!
Notice the number system!

Stacked and ready to be installed in our home!

Surprise!
Had to select a second color and one of my favorite treats!
Chocolate, yes that is the name of the stain.

Thank you to Nathan, Neal and Jesse for their open door to their workshop!

Next - Installation!
